Whoever wore the Prolight, Giro’s top of the line road shoes, knows how comfortable and stiff they are. If this person is in any like me, then he or she will understand that the Prolight isn’t the cheaper shoes in the market. Unfortunately, one may think, quality comes with a price, a saying that most of the time is right.

The significant differences between the Prolight and the Trans road shoes are US$150 and a few grams. The Prolight is lighter by 70 grams, but in most ways, they’re very similar. But enough with the Prolight, let’s talk about the Giro Trans Road Shoes.

The Giro Trans road shoes are very comfortable and wraps perfectly around the foot, being easily adjusted by a micro-ratcheting buckle. It features a flexible and robust microfiber upper with vents on the toes and on the sides. Therefore the feet are fresh. The three straps do their job perfectly and are easily opened and closed.

According to the website, the shoe features a supportive EVA footbed with arch-support and Aegis anti-microbial treatment. This provides extra comfort and direct contact with the sole.

The sole itself is great. It is a very stiff Easton EC70 carbon composite sole that never bends under pressure and ensuring excellent power transfer.

Final thoughts: perfect Giro shoes that perform almost as well as the top tier Prolight. They’re comfortable and very stiff, ensuring maximum pedaling efficiency.
