Cycling is an amazing sport that many people enjoy. Although many choose to go down the route of mountain and road bikes, some of us choose to go for more unique disciplines, such as BMX. The BMX is a bike made for tricks and stunts. They were invented in the 1970s and still to this day are very popular.

BMX’s come in many shapes and sizes, and it can be difficult to find the right ones if you are a taller person. It can be confusing which one you should go for. This article will tell you about some of the best BMX bikes for taller riders.

What do we look for in a BMX Bike?

When picking BMX bikes, it’s important to break them down to fully understand what you’re going to get. When we look at a BMX, we break it down and look at these categories;

    Mongoose are known for making incredible trick bikes, and the Title Elite is an excellent example of what they can do. The Title Elite is the perfect bike for the pump track and an ideal racing bike. The lightweight 6061 aluminum frame and fork setup gives it incredible speed and excellent handling. It is a 24 inch wheel bike with slick tires to keep you going quickly and offer excellent grip on the tarmac no matter what your riding style.

    With a larger front chainring than many BMX bikes, it makes it easy to hold higher speeds. The bike has a rear rim brake setup keeping it very light and simple, but it is not ideal for poor weather conditions. Coming in at $659.99, it’s not the cheapest and is one of the high-end bikes, but it’s an amazing bike for the money and a huge amount of fun on the track.

      When it comes to BMX’s Framed is a brand you are going to see a lot. They make high quality bikes at a very affordable price with some unique designs. The Twenty9er is an amazing bike of theirs and is great for taller adults. The first thing to mention is the 6061 aluminum frame paired with Chromoly steel forks. This keeps it light but adds great strength and comfort.

      It has larger 29” wheels, the biggest you will see on a BMX making it a huge bike for tall riders. It makes it great for sizing for a larger rider and adds to the bike’s top speed, but it does take away from the agility. The braking system is a rear disc brake which is very powerful and great in all weather conditions.

        Hiland makes various bikes, and they are becoming very popular because they come in at a very low price. The BMX is a good example of an excellent value for money product they make. The frame and fork are steel which, although heavier, offers a great level of comfort and strength and will be a great feeling bike to ride.

        The bike comes in three different sizes 20” wheels, 24” wheels, and 26” wheels. The 26” wheel BMX is designed for the larger riders and offers a great mix of speed and agility. The rear brake is a rim brake, and the bike comes with stunt pegs to help you with tricks like grinding. Coming in at only $209.99, it’s amazing value for money for a complete bike although a basic bike.

The first thing to mention is the bike’s design. It looks amazing and is definitely very easy on the eyes. The frame and forks are Chromoly steel, and although slightly heavier than aluminum, it does offer more flexibility and comfort.

          The wheels come in 27.5”, which is a size you won’t see often but perfect for a rider of 6ft who wants a bike to fit them but also offer agility and nimble handling. It comes with multi-purpose tires and with a rear disc brake, perfect for taking on rough terrain. The bike only costs $354.90 and is incredible value for money.

          We spoke earlier about the 29” Framed bike. Well, this is the 26” bike frame version. It comes in aluminum with Chromoly steel forks and is an ideal mix of comfort and speed. The stealth black design looks great and would be a great addition to anyone’s bike collection.

          The 26” wheels give this bike the ability to be used by taller riders but an incredible amount of control. It won’t give you incredible top speeds but will give you agile handling and a nimble feel, no matter how technical the course is. The rear disc brake will allow you to stop fast, and coming in at only $300.75 is incredible value for money knowing your getting a complete bike.
